After only a week here in the great equilateral country of Ecuador, I get to experience my first time teaching native ecuadorian kids.
That is what he called me. “Mister, Mister” he kept saying just before he threw me the ball. I stand a full head and shoulders above everyone else as I reach for the ball. I should have passed the ball along to another teammate, but the hoop was right there, so had to throw it. It was a friendly fun game of basketball with the natives in Otavalo, Ecuador. (and, no I didn’t get the ball in the hoop. I should have given it to my teammate.)
As I got up this morning I thought to myself “I am leaving in 24 hours”. One Day!
No matter how nervous I am as I prepare, I am so close that nothing could stop the excitement. But one thing pops into my mind. “This will be my last day in Maine for more than 3 weeks”. Not just Maine, but my last day in the United States.
